Control your car’s bumps & bounces | Shocks & Struts

Does your car feel like a bouncy castle? Shocks and Struts are a major component in the way your car handles. If you want your car to handle properly, you need to make sure your suspension system is functioning properly.

What are some indications that my shocks or struts need to be changed:

  • Uneven, cupping wear on your tires (wear that scoops into your tires)
  • Shocks/struts are leaking fluid
  • Car feels “floaty” on turns
  • Front end dips a lot when stopping

How often do I need to replace my shocks or struts?

Shocks or struts typically need to be changed between 24,000KM and 50,000KM depending on the vehicle. This information can be found in the owner’s manual of your vehicle. When replacing a shock, it is highly recommended to replace all four to ensure even suspension and much better handling. When replacing struts, your car may be taken out of alignment so be sure to get a wheel alignment at the same time as well.
